I am a follower of Jesus, a husband to Becky, a father to Kate, Emma and Lucy, and a pastor of Meadowbrook Church in Milwaukee, WI.
I am attracted to people who are honest and authentic (two of the reasons I married my wife). Often, I fear that I’m constantly putting on masks to hide who I really am. God is taking me on a journey of discovery to discover who I am in Him in order to free me from a life of hiding. He’s forming in me the character and mind of Christ, while constantly reminding me that He will finish the work He started in me (Phil 1v6).
I love to read good books and drink good coffee. I love being with people but also value my alone time. I guess you could say I am an extroverted introvert. I love to run and have run five half-marathons.
On this blog, I write from the perspective of a parent and a pastor. I find these two roles are significantly shaping the way I view life, relationships, and leadership. My hope is that through my work people will holistically grow in their relationship with God and with others.
In addition to my blog, I’ve also written a nine-week devotional called A Journey to the Cross, an ebook title Unstuck, and various articles and devotions for magazines from LifeWay and Walk Thru the Bible.
